I do that too which is why I have mixed feelings about subtitling vs. overdubbing. I once watched a movie in Sweden with some girls that I met. The movie was in English with Swedish subtitles, but I still keep reading the subtitles even though I really didn't know what they said. There's something about them that's just inherently distracting.
