I think Teonaht is great phonetically, so common elements with Arov=EBn are not surprising ;-) ;-) I suspect that any conlanger tends to collect all his/her favorite sounds in their personal language -- I wonder, then, whether any conlanger would tend to like languages best which sound most like their own? I wonder what= a Chinese or an African conlanger would think of these lines. Tolkien's Quenya sounds a lot like Finnish because Tolkien loved Finnish, and Sindari= n sounds like Welsh. My lang. sounds Indo-European and I like it best that way, but what kind of language would I find most beautiful if I were an Ainu? It would almost certainly be something very different... What factors go into such regional conceptions of beauty in language?
