In my conculture, intelligence = Expert training/skills. Experts are an
elite (and sometimes elitist) class of philosopher/physicist/adventurer/heroes
in my con-universe, who, although they have quite a colorful history
throughout the timeline of my con-universe, have almost always managed to
be regarded as a higher class. Because they know so much about the
underlying physics of their universe, they are very impressive to less
educated people, and hence become the epitome of intelligence in the
culture.
