I too had a dream once, years ago: I was the official linguist on an
interplanetary mission. At one point I went to the local stationers for
notebooks & pencils, but couldn't make myself understood. Later, near dawn,
a street-cleaning truck came along spraying out a huge plume of liquid--
thinking it might be acid, I ducked into a doorway, but a native came along
and said, "s@'bu" which I realized meant, 'it's just water'.
And so Kash sawu ['savu] 'water'.
