Except that the essentialist explanations have usually something true in them,
which is not the case with this one. Academic French is not spoken by anyone,
except the Académiciens themselves (even then, most don't follow their own
rules) and a few non-native speakers of French! Even teachers usually cannot
speak a proper Academic French, for the simple reason that they learn it as
part as their training as teachers!

And non-French Francophone speakers certainly don't speak anything like
Academic French. They usually speak a French which is even further from the
Academic rules than France's standard French!
