I susperct that this particular error is made more often when the child is
missing upper incisors. I know that my daughter was frustrated with the
way she started lithping as soon as she had lost one of her upper front
teeth. She just recently had a minor recurrence of it when she lost
another upper incisor last week. The funny thing was that it wasn't one of
the two directly in front, but one of the side ones, but it still afected
her speech.
