Right, there are a few exceptions, but by and large, most futurists seem
to think that mankind will be atheistic in the future. Several novels
I've read have expressed that quite explicitely.

Which, I suppose, tells us far more about the authors than the future.
Apparently, sci-fi seems to attract people who feel that relgion is
anachronistic, which I most definitely disagree with.
