There are many arcaism, heared in America, that still use /f/ when the
standard modern Spanish does not.  This suggest, I believe, that the final
shift from /f/ into /h/ into nothing where going on during the colonization.

"hizo" from "hacer" is one of the words that undergone that shift from
"facer".
