I have a friend (gay himself) who believes that we are the last generation
of gay men, because people are coming out, and hence not having children,
making ourselves genetic deadends; whereas in the past many more gay men
were in unwanted marriages, and passed on their "gay" gene to their
offspring.
He is somewhat resigned to this happening, and he doesn't have a suggestion
to stop it from happening.  On the other hand, I who am more of a propontant
of the early-childhood environment/psychology approach, fear no such
extinction
of homosexuality in the near future.
