Considering one of the reasons the Americans dropped the bombs was to tell
the Soviets 'we have bigger guns than you do, so don't try anything!' I
would suggest the dropping of bombs would have been moved ahead to the
Nowan invasion of Hokkaido (that must have been a bloodbath because I
suspect the Nowans would have virtually had to depopulate the island to
subdue the Japanese).
This could have made Nowapan very influential during the Cold War:
instrumental in bringing down one of the Axis powers and geo-politically
significantly placed (probably the same for the Boreanesians). Probably
the Nowans were offered a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
