    There are no abbreviations/contractions/condensations I know of in 
Spanish, other than pá for para (my apologies to those who can't view the "a" 
with accent ague), and that, if you think about it, is living language 
evolution.  Do you ever think about the way the languages we speak now are 
changing and how we can see them and possibly guess at how they'll look 
hundreds or thousands of years from now?  It gives me chills.  But anyway, I 
shouldn't talk about such things for Spanish, because the only person I 
communicate with is my grandma, whose every other word is "Dios" or "el 
Señor" and "Su amor", usually all caps, italics, underlined, bold, lots of 
exclamation points...
