Just out of curiosity:  to those of you who have occasion to write e-mails
in other languages (Swedish, Danish, German, Spanish...Chinese?)-- are there
abbreviations similar to AFAIK, IMHO etc. in those cases?

I know that in written Indonesian there are at least two acceptable
abbrevs.-- dll (dan lain-lain 'and others' = etc.) and dsb (dan sebagainya
'??'= 'and so forth').  I've never seen an Indonesian e-mail, but wonder if
they wouldn't abbreviate a lot of otherwise long phrases:  kts (kalau tidak
salah 'if (I'm) not mistaken'; kibb or kidbb (kalau ingat (dengan) baik-baik
= 'if I remember well'); mps (menurut pendapat saya = 'according to my
opinion').

ObConlang:  I haven't thought about Kash email jargon yet (surely it
exists); so far the only abbreviations are :  L K Ho for Landin Kashili
Holunda "Bank of the Holundan People" and L K NG  for Landin Kakarungale
'Royal Bank'.   Only vowels other than _a_ have to be written; that harks
back to the days when the alphabet was a syllabary, and consonant symbols
had an intrinsic a-vowel.
