I'll break em down for ya:
>> SIC - Student Information Center
>> A&R - Admissions and Records
pretty self explanatory
>> SOAR - Student Outreach And Recruitment
/soar/ or /so:r/
>> Fin Aid - Financial Aid
>> WLC - World Languages & Cultures
No neat name, just the letter names
>> IMIE - International Management and Entreprenuership (sp?)
same as above.
>> TAT - Teledramatic Arts & Technology
>> CST - Computer Systems & Technologies
>> VPA - Visial and Public Arts
>> WAC - Wellness Activity Center
>> ULR - University Learning Requirment
>I'm curious. For those which you can pronounce according to English laws,
>such as TAT or SOAR, do you say [t&t] or [ti: ei: ti:] or somesuch?
however, for the codes we use for our database at work, we try our best to
say as words:
SPAIDEN - /spejdEn/
SAAADMS - /sa:dmz/
SFAREGS - /s?fa:rEgz/
SOAPCOL - /so:pkOl/
hopefully I got the IPA right :).
