the only non-linguistic interlinear-translation i could find in the
bookstore is that of a greek bible :-)
i wonder where the italian interlinear-translations for students are
:-)

Well, what you call "furigana-like" translation method looks furiously like
interlinear translation, except that when we use interlinear translation, the
order is usually: sentence in foreign language, interlinear translation, smooth
translation, and that the interlinear translation usually shows also the
grammatical marks. It could be considered as a variant of interlinear.
