Hehe, I'm slowly doing that too :)) . Until now the worst initial clusters I
have in Maggel are [mb] (in |imyohf| ['mbu:]: cows), [bK\] (in |bltafj|
['bK\Ev]: weird - yes, it *is* the voiced lateral fricative :)) -), [zn] (in
|snah| ['znaI]: two), [kn] (in |ignuil| ['knur]: ten), [fT] (in |f ihbaodhoir|
['fTa:x]: among+complement) and [fp] (in |f ibaodhoir| ['fpa:x]: among -
without complement -). I'm planning worse :))) ([Gd] would be nice I think. And
of course I have to think of nice triconsonantal clusters - somehow [vgb] comes
to mind ;)) -, and even maybe tetraconsonantal ;)))) ).
Well, evil consonantal clusters in Maggel are nearly redundant: even if I had a
CV syllable structure, the phonology is evil by itself :))) (imagine a language
which distinguishes [w] from [M\]!!! - I mean the labiovelar approximant from
the velar one :)))) -. And imagine that most consonants in Maggel come with an
unpalatalised and a palatalised form :)))) . Although somehow the palatalised
form of [h] is [C] and the one of [s] is [sC] ;))))) ).
Christophe.
