I seem to remember there's a similar refrain in a Breton folk song:
ha ma meil a drei / diga-diga-di
ha ma meil a ia / diga-diga-da

(and my mill turns / and my mill 'goes') - the diga... bits of course are
just pleonasms.
So is this a French thing or does anyone know of any other langs that use
windmill symbolism?
