I would also grudgingly mention TCL/TK, because it runs nicely
under even Micro$oft Windows version 3.1 (!!!) and provides
both a full programming language and nice windows widgets.
But now I just use Perl (and Postgres) and generate HTML.
My opinion is that web-based-everything is winning, fast.
