I don't understand the difference between "ave" and "cad". They seem to be mere auxiliaries intended to carry suffixes. I thought it had something to do with definiteness of the object, or with the use of the -um suffix, but I can't see a consistency. Some help? Hat and bay just seem to mean "canonical object" and "canonical subject/object combination". -- Christian Thalmann
