In the California State University system, one year of highschool
foreign language learning is equivalent to only one semester in
University. I remember i had a hard time with Spanish in high school,
but when I got to University, it all crystalized.... i don't know it
just seems language got easier out of High School. Anyway, i've had 4
semesters of Spanish instruction in University, and it only really
came together on my trip to Queretaro.
In High School I remember things like Subjunctive were only glossed
over, and lightly touched. I think we spent maybe a couple of weeks on
it, and i just didn't get it (i guess it wasn't explained clearly to
me)
