Nope, I live in coastal Central California. The reason we have so many of
those animals here is because we still have a lot of the chapparal habitat
left along the coast, and we have large areas of undeveloped land leading
right into a National Forest preserve (Los Padres National Forest). My
town butts right up against the chapparal, and I drive through wild /
slightly developed areas to get to school so I have seen each and everyone
of those animals while driving to school :).
This reminds me, i think when i get to doing plants and animals i'm going
to start with the chapparal animals and plants first.
