No, just the opposite (for me; can't speak for Ray). Your recollection of the "orange juice" distinctions was correct: 'orange,juice is the juice of the orange fruit, while 'orange'juice is any orange-colored juice. The stress pattern of "apple pie" patterns with the *latter*, not the former. It's 'apple'pie, not 'apple,pie. So phonlogically, at least, "apple-flavored pie" would seem to be the same sort of thing as "orange-colored juice", and not the same sort of thing as "the juice of the orange fruit". -- Mark J.
