Fits very well. The Karl XII was in force (the Bible, not Karl himself...) from ca. 1700 until 1917, when there appeared a new translation that was replaced only this year. It seems the text you have had been updated according to the early 19th century spelling reform (1812 IIRC). By then Sweden had already for some time had an Academy issuing prescriptions in such matters...

Swedish Americans clung to old spelling, fraktur and all that. long after it was changed here in 1907, and I guess quite a few clung to the old Bible too. Publishing activity was very high around 1900, with several newspapers both in Chicago and in the older Swedish settlements. BTW my own grandparents were there for a stint in the 20's, but returned here when depression hit.
