Re: OT: What? the clean-shaven outnumber the bearded? "Yer Ugly Mug," etc.

One thing that I think should hold true for straight
or gay is the preference for symetry. All the studies
that I've read/heard about/seen on tv seem to say that
one VERY important aspect of physical attractiveness
is symetry -- the more perfectly symetrical the more
attractive -- and ratios between
hips/waist/shoulders/chest and between eye-width and
other facial features, etc. Studies seem to show that
these *ratios* hold pretty true reguardless of age or
race or culture though actual size preferences may
vary significantly.

One interesting study I heard about said that an
individual woman's preference changes throughout her
monthly cycle with her preference becoming more
strongly "masculine" as her most fertile days approach
and then steadly less "masculine" thereafter only to
repeat next month.

Here in Taiwan the current fad is for really skinny
guys with very androgenous features -- at least among
the teens I teach. Of course the guys who look like
men find it rather disappointing.
