Re: apostrophes in transliteration

In the system of Romanization used for Druni the apostrophe has two uses.
The first one is used in order distinguish a single letter in the native
Druni script and separate sounds that have acidentally come together.

Example:  tá sat'salóva tsalyávi.  (We forgot the document file)


"ts" is represented by one letter in the native Druni Shpilavi script.  When
a "t" and an "s" come together in the transliteration they are separated by
an apostrophe:

sát - document
sál - collection of

Therefore: sat'sál (not satsál)

The second use is to occasionally represent the hyphen in native Druni
script:  vún'sá instead of vún-sá.
