*shudder*, I really don't like 's being used for plural ending. That's
the only really useful usage of the apostrophe in English, IMO, to
distinguish plural non-possessive (s), singular possessive ('s) and
plural possessive (s').

Actually, from Irish Ó, so no real justification for the apostrophe. I
guess people just thought it was from English _of_.
