No, I don't like _8_... _8_ would probably be better used for what is currently _w_ (since it is after all pronounced [8]). If only ASCII had an o-slash, that would be perfect...

[snip] It depends... I haven't really sat down to work out the intricacies of Ebisedian phonetic realizations yet. I *have* noticed, however, that /j/, /c/, and /C/ are pronounced differently depending on the surrounding vowels. For example, _cwi'_ is realized as [ts_m8"?i] ([s_m] being laminate [s]), but _cugri'_ is realized as [tSu"gri]. Also, /w/ is sometimes realized as [w@\] instead of [8].
