My church back home does it that way, and nearly everyone here says that
their church back home did it that way (something like a third of our
members are students).  Indeed, it's frequently the form we'll use in
prayers outside of the church building itself.  A much prettier version,
in my mind.  Contemporary English is just such an ugly language.
