I have nothing significant to add, except that one night when I went to
dinner with some friends, my friend liz told us her experience in Japan.
For one of her classes, they got to translate their names into Kanji. The
transliteration she liked best made her name out to mean "white vinegar"
(She didn't tell us the actual character names).
