Well, as for my name:
first name: Christophe < Greek "one who bears Christ"
second name: Alain < Germanic, I don't remember its meaning
last name: Grandsire < unknown origin, unknown meaning (cutting it into
grand+sire would be folk etymology. My grandfather says it comes from the name
of a stream... I don't know at all, but I know this lastname is typically
Normand)
Christophe.
