Oh yes, I'd forgot that! (Precisely 'sweater' or 'pullover'.) I've
confused Americans before with it :/ But I have no idea what you mean
by jumper, dresses aren't especially common informally any more, and I
don't often find myself where formal dress is appropriate (maybe once a
year).
(Q. What do you get if you cross a kangaroo with a sheep?
A. Woolly jumpers all over Australia!)
